Location Works provides a location finding and management service for the film and television industries and a complete production and location service for the photographic industry. It is the largest locations company in Europe.

1985 - 2007
Location Works was formed in 1985, making it the longest established company of its kind in the U.K. We are an organisation of freelance location managers and producers with a common philosophy. By working together, sharing our expertise and information, we provide an exceptionally comprehensive yet flexible service tailored to suit each assignment. You can come to Location Works for complete production support or simply browse through our cross-referenced library of locations.

Each location finding job is a new and different challenge so there is considerable advantage to pooling knowledge. Location Works provides hundreds of locations to film and television production companies, photographers and advertising agencies each year. Our expert location managers have the skills to foresee and overcome any likely situations - from arranging parking to procuring a palace - and the ability to work to your brief quickly, precisely and within budget. If you're coming to London to shoot landmark locations such as Tower Bridge or Trafalgar Square we can offer useful advice.

Who are we?

Location Works is a company run by location professionals for location professionals. We are a company of highly experienced location managers with experience of hundreds of shoots of all kinds, from full-blown feature films to the most modest stills shoots. Although based in London, we are also experts on UK and worldwide locations.

What does a location manager do?

Anything and everything that it takes to make a location shoot go smoothly. It's a job that can require many talents and great patience. There's no such thing as the "typical" job, but have a look at our description of a location shoot. If you're interested in becoming a location manager, here's some helpful advice.

What's a location library?

The accumulation of thousands of images of landscapes, private homes, public institutions, etc. which are willing to be used as a location for filming, photography or events.

Our library is the result of many thousands of person-hours creating this web site, acquiring images, processing them, categorising them, etc. Our web site and its category system are copyrighted.
